First ever visit today and it's such a nice coffee shop :) the latte with cherry syrup was amazing as was the home made lemon drizzle cake. And service was lovely. Will be definatly be going back
Enjoyed a slice of cake and a cup of coffee with a friend. Sat in the comfy window seats and watched passersby. Service was warm and welcoming. I was disappointed to be told that they had no toilets and that I should use those in the Town Hall. I've had several cakes from here over the past couple of months and they've always been great, as today.

We walked from Leverstock Green and area is not so nice to walk through took us ages hours to do so to. Fish and chips were very good and portions too. But I found the fish batter a little to greasy. Fatty. Oily.
HAD to leave a review! It's been years since I had chips this good. Just moved nearby and thought we would try out these and were not disappointed. Nice and square and soft and just greasy enough - exactly how they should be! The guys working there were really friendly and cheerful. Wish I had discovered this place sooner!

Been to the Plough several times, and generally it has been good. Last time though, about 2 months ago, the roast potatoes were pretty awful. Put that down to a one off. Will probably be going again soon, just hope the roasties are back to their normal standard.

Good food well cooked and reasonable prices . Friendly staff private garden to eat or just sit which is a surprise for first time visitors. The lunch time is wonderful 12-5.

Absolutely loved our visit to your quaint and comfy restaurant. The food was amazing, I couldn't fault it (neither could the other four in our party of five. There was air conditioning so wasn't stuffy and uncomfortable as the windows didn't open but there is the option of sitting outside but with no table service. Would definitely recommend and visit again if we were in the area. Thanks for a pleasant and friendly experience 😊
It has a great location on the canal fairly close to the train station. Must look very charming in full sunshine. Unfortunately my visit was cursed with drizzly rain. It is not a wheelchair friendly venue and while you can easily reserve a couple of tables for a group to sit together, l imagine at a weekend it would be a tight squeeze to walk through to the bar or toilet. It has a very good choice of wines, on tap beers and lagers, bottled ciders and the usual spirits. Of particular note was the shelf with a full variety of vermouths. The food is moderately to expensively priced. It's nicely presented but flavour wise l didn't hear any wild exclamations of joy coming from my fellow diners. My super food salad was adequate but should have had far more ginger zing in the dressing. Very tame. I'd say l had one asparagus spears in my serving😡. Others left part of their dishes, bread, large leaves and plain garnishes. Worth a drink in the sun. Food just a snack. While you're there check out the quirky collection of tea pots and the interesting array of framed watercolours and prints.

Firstly, prices are WAY HIGH for a take away - hence the 4 stars and not 5 but secondly, and most importantly, the food is good. Chilli beef was flavoursome and had chilli in it (surprising how many don't have much, if any !) and the portion sizes are good.

The food from here is delicious & has always been my favourite in Hemel...... BUT the new price increases are astronomical!!! Over £3 for just a pancake roll REALLY?? False economy, these huge price increases will effect this business and loose their regular customers.

Great food, best takeaway in the region. They dont deliver because the food is so good, you are happy to pick it up by yourself. Will come back again. Good and fast service as well.
I had better chinese food in restaurants but this is the best takeaway so far. Really good food. It’s neither cheap nor pricey. But well worth it and portions are quite big. Would totally recomend as a chinese takeaway.

Went for the banquet, brilliant. A lot of food though! Only thing, they were VERY odd about serving a 125ml glass of wine. One of us wanted a small and they came back with quite a big medium... We asked the waitress again who said this is the smallest size we do. We then said we wanted a 125 glass of wine and she said they didn't have a measure for it. I suggested she used large and small shot measures. Anyway, she came back with a small glass of wine in the end. But it was all very odd!

Every single time I have been there since the refit. The food has been on point and extra tasty. But 8 yes eight times on the trot they have give me a small coke when I ordered a large meal. 8 times. Madness.
What can I say. Good tastey chicken, somewhat cheap. But this place is always filthy. Bins usually over flow, tables littered with rubbish and sauce, worst of all the men's toilets are putrid. I wouldn't use them if they were the only one available!

Ordered some food tonight for the first time. The service was really nice. Fast and friendly. I had to write a review after tasting the food when I was at home. Best Chinese takeaway food i have ever tasted.
Good food and very friendly staff, never had a problem here yet, don't understand what others are fussed about, has passed all relevant hygiene and food safety checks. I've never had any problems here and been eating grub from here for over 20 years

Had a great kebab. Well presented on a slate with a basket of chips and prepared well.
Fantastic food, the chips have to be the best chips ever from a take away like this. The chicken shish kebab is to die for, and the chicken strips with hot sauce, all top quality chicken. I've ordered here a few times and always arrive super early whenever i've ordered, i've also asked for specific times and they've arrived bang-on - cannot fault you guys!
